Many of us start every year with a #NewYearResolution. But, what exactly does this mean?
Well, by definition, a resolution is the act or process of resolving, either by analyzing a complex notion into simpler ones, or answering, or determining. So, what does this mean to you? Or, what does this mean for you?
First, we have to assess exactly what we feel needs an actual resolution in our lives!
For me, it has to do with accepting new beginnings and allowing myself to have a clean slate at the beginning of the new year. I do early winter cleaning, and begin my fasting to last the entire month of January. With this full house and body cleansing, I meditate daily and smudge weekly. This usually flows into my daily detoxing and lasts all year 'round.
For many, though, it has to do with #weightlossgoals, #hairgrowthgoals, and #financialstability goals. In which case, I can surely relate, since those were at the top of the list in my younger years. However, I’ve learned that “surface” goals usually don’t take long to perish.
What might a #surfacegoal be?
Well, by definition, a surface is defined as the exterior or upper boundary of an object or body, which can also be the external or superficial aspect of something. This is a mere reflection of what we think we want others to see when they look at us, rather than what we actually want to see within ourselves.
So, what exactly is your new year resolution?
Weight loss can be tied to overall health, which can have great long-term benefits. It isn’t unheard of that with ideal weight an individual has better self-esteem. However, how an individual goes about getting that ideal weight may actually turn out to render negative long-term effects on the body. Ideal weight loss is tied to both physical and mental health, which feeds the mind positivity and the body proper nutrients.
Hair growth can also be tied to overall health. It isn’t unheard of that with the ideal appearance an individual has better self-esteem. However again, how an individual goes about getting that ideal appearance may actually turn out to render negative long-term effects on the entire body. Believe it or not, the ideal physical appearance, which includes hair growth, is tied to both physical and mental health. This also feeds the mind positivity and the body proper nutrients.
Financial stability is another goal that can be tied to overall health. In reality, a truly negative individual cannot sustain true wealth. They may be able to obtain and hold on to riches. However, riches and wealth are 2 completely different things. Once an individual focuses positively on wealth, the rest tends to fall into place.
Will any of these goals be sustainable over night? Absolutely not!
We’ve all heard the age old saying, “anything worth having is worth working for.”
And, all new year resolutions are definitely obtainable with long-term sustainability. The real questions are…
Why is your resolution what it is? And, how bad do you want to conquer it?
